Looking At A World Of Racquet Sport

SHOWCASING

If you've ever been in New York CIty's Grand Central Terminal you know it's an incredibly bustling place, especially at rush hour. So if you're going to drop a court and throw one of the Squash world's richest tournaments, why not do it there?

Well, that's exactly what The Professional Squash Association's J.P. Morgan's Tournament of Champions does every year. And with player compensation at $115,000 this year, it definitely seems like an upscale affair, again, dropped right in the middle of large numbers of people flowing through beautiful architecture.

And what you expect to happen, actually does. People stop and watch. New Yorker's who typically commute with a no nonsense attitude, turn from that, even if it's just for a moment, to talk with one another about how cool it all seems...just as anyone who can appreciate what it is to swing a racquet, can find something worthwhile in the action.

This event, with it's crazy prize money, attracts the best players in the world. And Squash enthusiasts from all over the New York City flock to GCT for the rare chance to see these players in person. In attendance was the world's #1 ranked player, England's Nick Matthew.

For some that aren't involved in their daily commute, it's a nicely luxurious affair.

In the United States, Squash is seeing a growth in participation, and a competing organization that tours exclusively in the US, makes for an interestingly dynamic view of the game. If you are interested in knowing more you can visit the following links and dig for yourself.
